Virgin Trains awards HD Forward facing camera project to Petards

Virgin Trains has awarded Petards the contract to supply eyeTrain Forward facing CCTV system for their entire West Coast Main Line fleet of 52 Class 390 Pendolino trains.
Forward Facing CCTV is part of Petards continual development of the market leading eyeTrain™ Digital CCTV system representing the cutting edge on-board CCTV technology. Petards equipment provides High Definition Megapixel cameras in very demanding railway environment.
Petards has worked closely with both Virgin Trains and Network Rail. Installation of Forward Facing CCTV system will help to improve the operational performance on the West Coast Main Line route. British Transport Police, Virgin Trains and Network Rail staff will be able to quickly assess any incident by viewing the CCTV footage at the scene.
CCTV in the Pendolino fleet saloons was installed by Petards when Pendolino trains were introduced on the West Coast Main Line. Lee Bradford, Operations Director, commented "Virgin Trains is an important customer and we are extremely pleased to receive this additional contract and we will continue to work closely with Virgin Trains to make their trains and the railway network a safer and more secure environment for customers travelling on the West Coast Main Line".
