Ethics and business conduct

We adhere to the highest legal and ethical standards

Petards has developed a series of policies relating to conduct on and offsite, with which its employees and third parties that act on the Group’s behalf are expected to comply.

These parties are also obliged to adhere to all applicable laws and regulations in the countries in which the Group operates.

Anti-bribery and corruption

It is the Group’s policy to conduct business in an honest way and without the use of corrupt practices or acts of bribery to obtain an unfair advantage.

Petards is committed to ensuring adherence to the highest legal and ethical standards. This is reflected in every aspect of the way in which we operate.

The Board attaches the utmost importance to this policy and will apply a “zero tolerance” approach to acts of bribery and corruption by any of our employees or third-party representatives.

Modern Slavery Act 2015 - Statement

We are committed to ensuring, so far as we are able, that there is no slavery or human trafficking in our supply chains or in any part of our business. The Group will not knowingly support and/or do business with any suppliers who are involved in slavery.

Employees

Petards takes the welfare of its employees seriously:

  • We will seek to uphold all internationally recognised human rights wherever our operations are based
  • We will only employ individuals who meet the minimum legal age requirement
  • We will set employees’ working hours and pay in compliance with all applicable laws
  • We will not engage in or support the use of forced or compulsory labour.

Suppliers

Our supply chains include suppliers of raw materials and components, sub-contractors and providers of various services.

We undertake appropriate due diligence on our suppliers and ensure we only do business with organisations that meet the Group’s high ethical standards.

Suppliers identified as operating in potential high risk areas are subject to enhanced due diligence requirements in certain circumstances.

Suppliers are required to:

  • Comply with all applicable child labour laws and set employees’ working hours and pay in accordance with local legislative requirements
  • Not engage in or support the use of forced or compulsory labour
  • Not procure work or service from any person under the threat of any menace
  • Allow employees to leave their employment with reasonable notice
  • Not insist that employees must surrender their passport or any work permit as a condition of employment.

Whistleblowing

Employees, suppliers or other third parties who become aware of any issue that may breach these requirements are encouraged to raise the matter with an appropriate member of the Group’s senior management team.

Our performance indicators

We will know the effectiveness of the steps that we are taking to ensure that slavery and/or human trafficking is not taking place within our business or supply chain through the results of our stringent supplier assessments and if no reports are received from employees, the public or law enforcement agencies to indicate that modern slavery practices have been identified.
